  • Homophones

No, I did not write "homophobes".  I'm referring to the infamous there, their, they're and your, you're challenge.  It makes my skin crawl, well, I guess more accurately it really annoys me.

Wedding number 4 of 6 is this coming weekend.  My "little" brother gets married in less than two weeks and it seems so incredibly odd.  We're all growing up...I'm incredibly excited for them both and have been buying wedding presents like crazy

I think I've decided to not go back to grad school - at least for school counseling.

So, it really just hit me about a week ago how little I pray.  Throwing fits, whining, pouting - all roll off my tongue with ease but praying about the situation instead...not likely.  About two weeks ago I was just incredibly fed up with everything.  Life wasn't going the way I thought it should and I was ticked at God for letting it be that way.  While I was in the midst of that little pity party I realized that I had done nothing productive about the situation.  It's almost like God was hurt that I would be so mad and frustrated when I hadn't even asked Him to make things any different.  Have you ever gotten to that point?  The world is just going nuts around you and you don't even ask the One who can make it better to do something...

I don't hold that God is this friendly uncle living in heaven waiting to give you what you ask for but He does want us to come to Him with our burdens and heavy loads because His yoke is easy and His burden is light.

    Hope you're all doing well.

Love (and a shout out to the patent leather shoes I got today),
    Steph

Have I been there?  Goodness, yes.  Last week for work, I looked up all these different places in the Bible where people were worshipping God. The one that floored me was about Job.  He shaves his head, rips his clothes, lays down on the ground and *worships*.  I realized over far lesser traumas than he experienced, I tend to lay down on the ground and pitch a fit.  I'm learning to engage God with all my heart through every circumstance, but it is a learning process for me.  It is particularly hard to give over certain timing issues I think are way way off.  I just don't talk to him at all instead of leaning on him through it.  I'm a bozo.  Sorry I didn't catch your call!  When is a good time to call you back?  I got a funny story about oompa loompas to tell you

Purses - what is it with those things?  They either make clutches or suitcases.  I got a bag at The Limited last fall I'm crazy about.  It's black, fake leater, and they have a version of it this spring too (which is actually cuter than the one I got :)  It's a bit on the big side, but not awkwardly so.  I also nabbed one last year at Wilson.  It's medium size and yellow.  I carried it all summer long (just don't tell the cows).  Here are some more I like (fyi, I haven't seen the Aldo bags up close.  However the bags in store look well made and what not):

(Granted - I'm torn on the white.  Part of me thinks Graceland bowling bag.  But I think they look great when people carry them.  Also, I'm not really into leather.  It's just when it comes to finding a bag with some structure, I tend to either go cow or fake cow.)

This is so fun!  It's like we're shopping together virtually :)  I dig the Puma bags.  Good choice!  I'm partial to the black/gray one (I think I must be goth deep down inside.  I like the color black too much).  Have fun at your wedding.  I'm heading north for one next weekend.  Woo!

Also, I think you should post again soon so I don't keep commenting on this blog post like a nerdbucket.
